Surbhi Gupta

Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences (Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research, University of Delhi, India)  

Surbhi Gupta joined the Mobley lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow in January 2023. She was born and raised in India where she received her B.S. in Zoology with Honors from the University of Delhi, M.S. in Microbial Biotechnology from Panjab University in Chandigarh and her Ph.D in Biomedical Sciences at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research at the University of Delhi.  Her dissertation described CRISPR-Cas system in relation to antibiotic resistance and virulence mechanism of uropathogenic E. coli as compared to commensal isolates. Here, she is working on determining the contribution of specific E. coli transporters to infection of the urinary tract by Uropathogenic E. coli in our Molecular Mechanisms of Uropathogenesis project.  In her spare time, Surbhi enjoys running, workouts, reading and exploring new places.
